Presymptomatic Testing for Huntington Disease

The University of Pittsburgh is an approved Huntington Disease Society of America (HDSA) testing center. This means that no analysis can be performed unless the patient has been referred for genetic counseling . This rule does not apply to symptomatic testing.

If you or your patient desires presymptomatic testing for Huntington Disease, the consent form must be signed by either a board-certified genetics counselor or a board-certified medical geneticist in order for testing to begin.
